Why Join?

CALNOC (Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes) invites you to join the nation’s first nursing sensitive registry.

We believe that together we can use practice based evidence to improve patient care and quality.

CALNOC participants enjoy a variety of benefits:

  • CALNOC meets CMS' reporting requirements for participation in a nursing sensitive quality registry.
  • CALNOC indicators assist hospitals in meeting JCAHO standards.
  • CALNOC reports allow hospitals to benchmark performance against multiple groups such as all CALNOC hospitals, state-specific reports, corporate system reports, magnet hospitals, and more.
  • CALNOC reports are available at the unit, unit type, and facility level and meet ANCC requirements for Magnet application.
  • CALNOC hospitals participate in developing statewide and national nursing quality indicators.
  • CALNOC structure and process indicators allow hospitals to advance staffing effectiveness and patient safety efforts within their own facility. CALNOC hospitals participate in research projects to better understand practice and to implement findings.
  • CALNOC provides staff nurse growth and development opportunities.
  • All CALNOC benefits are provided for a nominal participation fee.

Integration with NDNQI Data

Hospitals participating in the CALNOC Database Registry may also find membership in the American Nurses Association's database, the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) beneficial. CALNOC hospitals participating in NDNQI may request that their data be transferred directly to NDNQI from CALNOC for a nominal fee. CALNOC will ensure that your data conforms to the latest NDNQI XML specifications and transfer your data to NDNQI with no additional effort on your part. If your hospital wishes to enroll in the NDNQI through CALNOC, please sign and return the NDNQI Agreement to CALNOC. We will forward it to the NDNQI and ensure that our Data Management Team is alerted to submit your data to NDNQI at the next deadline.
