CALNOC History

The Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes (CALNOC) was launched in 1996.

CALNOC began as one of six ANA pilot sites that ultimately contributed to development of the NDNQI database. Over its 20-year history, CALNOC has established itself as a pioneer in nursing quality measurement and nursing sensitive indicators.

In collaboration with the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN), CALNOC developed the nation’s first nursing quality indicators database registry in the ambulatory setting. Many of the nation’s leading health care organizations partner with CALNOC to fulfill their strategies of supporting nursing as a critical aspect of the patient journey.

In February 2019, Press Ganey acquired the CALNOC database registry of nursing sensitive quality indicators.

CALNOC’s success, in the midst of healthcare system turbulence can be attributed to its innovative, customer focused, high value products and services. Our goals are aligned firmly in nursing, we only succeed when Nursing does.
