Introducing CALNOC 2.0!

CALNOC 2.0 represents the culmination of over 20 years of nursing scientific research, the creation of the first Nurse Sensitive Registry in both Inpatient and Ambulatory care settings and the development of NQF Nurse Sensitive Endorsed Measures.

In the winter of 2019, CALNOC completed its transition of its database and measures to Press GaneyAs a result, CALNOC is now embarking on a new path, returning to its roots in Health Services Research with a continuing focus on nursing.

CALNOC 2.0 is pleased to introduce the CALNOC Nightingale Research Fund, a vehicle for innovative research and scientific inquiry on the impact of nursing on patient care, safety and quality. This fund will provide grants, scholarships and matching funds to individual and institutions in furthering CALNOC’s mission and goals.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Didn’t Press Ganey purchase CALNOC?

CALNOC did NOT get purchased by Press GaneyCALNOC continues and thrives as a Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation. CALNOC sold certain assets to Press Ganey, namely the Nurse Sensitive Registry, its Measures and the future development of the registry.

Why did this happen?

Twenty three years ago, CALNOC started as a Nursing Research Organization. Along this journey, CALNOC saw a need for developing the registry and providing practice based evidence as to the contribution of nursing on quality care. Over time we grew the registry organically and also introduced the first set of Ambulatory Nurse Sensitive Measures.

However, as a small nonprofit, the ability to scale nationally and internationally is a very challenging effort. In its deal with Press Ganey, CALNOC saw an opportunity for a steward of its registry and measures, who could provide the resources necessary to grow the work. And it provided CALNOC with the opportunity to further its scientific and research mission with renewed resources.
